o       Increase the participant's sense of personal confidence.
o       Demonstrate basic knowledge in map and compass skills.
o       Develop planning and organizational skills.
o       Develop an increased joy in physical activity.
o       Develop an increased familiarity and identification with the environment.
o       Develop critical thinking and problem solving skills through group/individual activities

o       Apply map and compass skills in practical learning activities.
o       Actively participate in a variety of camp craft skills.
o       Actively participate in the physical activity of orienteering and outdoor education.
o       Use the internet to research and plan a camping/backpacking trip.
